Black Ballad is excited to present to you our first event: Cocktails & Conversation on Black History on Friday 28th October at Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell.
The goal with our articles, videos & overall platform is to provide a space for British women of black origin to share their experiences authentically & ultimately create a better world for black women.
We have the same goal with #CocktailsAndConvo: It will be an evening of celebrating the talents, trials & triumphs of black British women through honest conversation with the women that are creating, shaping and documenting our history.
Our Speakers include:
- Christine Ohuruogu - 400m Commonwealth, World & Olympic Champion
- Florence Adepoju - Founder of MDMFlow
- Ade Hassan - Founder of Nubian Skin
- Fiona Rutherford - Reporter at Buzzfeed UK
- Bridget Minamore - Poet & Freelance Journalist
- Theresa Ikoko - Playwright of Girls
Our Founder & Editor Tobi Oredein will also talk about Black Ballad's future, as we take the next step in becoming a digital media company that authentically & uncompromisingly represents black British women, by launching our crowdfunding campaign.
Of course, there will be cocktails and other refreshments, plus a few free goodies. More importantly, you’ll be alongside other black British women also hoping to contribute towards making the world a better place for black women everywhere. We’d love to see you on Friday 28th October! There are a limited number of early tickets available, so make sure you buy your tickets as soon as possible!
