Speakers: Wendy Sims, Regional Head of Policy and Performance, Sandwell Women’s Aid, and Sara Ward, Executive Director, Sandwell Women’s Aid
Wendy has lead the development of policy and performance standards across the organization as new support services for victims of child sexual exploitation, modern slavery and female offending support services have developed . She has extensive links across the universities in the West Midlands and as a Practice Educator supervises undergraduate social workers on placement.
Sara has been involved in the development of Specialist Domestic Violence Courts, Multi agency Risk Assessment Conferences, Sandwell Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub. She was voted one of the West Midlands top 100 Inspirational Women in 2010. She achieved the Gold Standard in Investors in People as well as nationally One to Watch in 2014. In 2015 she lead Sandwell Women’s Aid to achieve Black Country Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year and in 2016 was a finalist in the Leader of the Year awards for Investor in People.
