Special guest for the evening is poet, Gia Mawusi. Gia's work explores loss, longing, heritage and hope - join us to share some of her creative journey as a writer and poet. Gia Mawusi was born in Beira, Mozambique. Following her family fleeing civil war, Gia grew up in Lisbon, Portugal. She currently lives in Great Yarmouth.

Food is thanks to The Zainab Project. Led by Rasha Ibrahim and Elfatih Ahmed, The Zainab Project is an organisation that uses cooking to bring people together and give refugees and asylum seekers in Norwich transferable skills needed to find future employment.

Local dj & innate creates founder, Amy Nomvula, providing music on the night.

Doors at 7pm for food and music. Gia Mawusi chat from 7.45pm.

The event is hosted by Tonia Mihill and Amy Nomvula and is an innate creates production. Black Futures is supported by Norfolk Library and Information Service.

Black Futures is a not-for-profit event. Lots of work has gone on behind the scenes to curate and deliver an evening of food, music and artistry. So that we can continue to share ideas, eats, music and culture we ask that if you can afford to, you pay the suggested amount of £15. We understand that everybody may not be in a position to do this - if this is you, don't worry, please pay what you can.
