Event description

Description

History plays a vital part in shaping our identity and view of the world. In this intimate community event we will reflect on Black history education as a practice of freedom; what we can do to support this in our homes, schools and communities?

Black history is British history. How does racism operate in our history education and how does that impact on Black lives and social inequalities in Britain today? How are we building on Black-led interventions that are decolonising history education and challenging the racial bias and euro-centric lens through which history is traditionally taught?

This event is being organised in partnership with The Black Curriculum and Numbi Arts.

A light Ghanaian meal from Sweethandz Restaurant is included, at suggested donation of £3.
