Black History Month: Meet Claude Johnson: Historian, Author, Entrepreneur and Father to three elite atlethes

Date: 15.10.2025

Time: 6pm - 7.30pm

Location: The German School London

Claude Johnson is a historian, author, entrepreneur, and father of three elite student-athletes. After a successful career in leadership positions at major companies including Nike, IBM and American Express he made the bold decision to become a stay-at-home dad while pioneering new research into African American Basketball history.
Claude’s groundbreaking historical work uncovered the untold history of Black basketball teams before the NBA, leading to the publication of his acclaimed book: “The Black Fives: The Epic Story of Basketball’s Forgotten Era”.
He is going to share stories that go far beyond history and you will hear how he has built global partnerships with Nike and Puma, created educational merchandise, and balanced it all while raising a family. Expect inspiring stories, historic artifacts and, if we get lucky, probably even retro sneakers!
Join us for this special evening celebrating history, innovation and advocacy and accept Claude’s invitation to “Make history now!”.
