Join us for another Black History Month Workshop Series at Republic London: Stories Behind the Portraits, led by private art collector Julie Elizabeth.
This intergenerational workshop invites you to explore how families and communities preserve their histories through photographs and portraits. Bring a personal (family) photograph—digital or physical—and come ready to share, listen, and connect.
What you’ll do:
• Look closely: Explore the stories and meanings in family photos and portraits
• Share stories: Reflect on memory, identity, and belonging across generations
• Care: Learn simple ways to look after photographs at home
• Bring: One personal (family) photograph, digital or physical
No experience needed. All materials provided.
