Join us for Part 3 of our Black History Month Workshop Series at Republic London: Archiving to Remember with community archivist and artist educator Cassia Clarke.
This creative, hands-on session is inspired by Cassia’s debut guide, Preserving the Familial Archive. Blending compassion with practical, sustainable methods, Cassia invites you to explore how personal photographs can be cared for and preserved at home.
What you’ll do:
• Emotional: Draw/collage from a meaningful photo to surface memory and value
• Visual: Recreate your image using instant photography to make a new keepsake
• Tangibility: Learn preservation basics (handling, sleeves, labelling) and leave confident about caring for your archive
• Bring: One personal (family) photograph—digital or physical
