Our project is aimed at residents of African and Caribbean heritage in Hammersmith and Fulham. We will engage with the African and Caribbean community by offering a creative and meaningful workshop that connects directly with African cultural identity through sewing and storytelling.

This project is sponsored by the Hammersmith and Fulham council.

This event is for complete beginners and any adult over 18 is welcome to take part,

At our workshop we will create a Map of Africa Patchwork Antique made with Ankara, for the workshop please bring a T-shirt or Sweatswirt which we can put the Patchwork on top of.

The workshop is free of charge and there will be beverages at the workshop as well as snacks, please do inform any member of staff regarding any allergies you may have and what food will be suitable for you.

During the workshop participants will also share experiences and family stories of the things we liked and missed in Africa, strengething intergenerational connections and a sense of belonging.
