Come and get involved at Black Park!
Join our Rangers out on site in Black Park to help us deliver practical tasks to support our management plan.
What are practical conservation sessions all about?
You don’t need any experience or knowledge of the parks, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved!
Our sessions are led by Rangers who will supply you with protective equipment and tools you need for the task and explain how to use them. Each session will deliver on a specific priority within our management plan for the park and we will explain how the task contributes to these priorities.
The sessions run from 10.00-15.00hrs and you are free to leave the session early, just let our Rangers know before you leave.
If you have not attended a session with us previously, feel free to contact us. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the session or the task!
Meeting Point
You will be met by one of the Ranger Team by the Kiosk picnic benches, situated off the main visitor car park in Black Park (adjacent to Go Ape). For reference, please see the map below - the yellow star is where to meet.

FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
You currently need to be aged 18 years or over to attend this session. There is no upper age limit for our practical conservation sessions.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the session?
We currently do not have any public transport links directly to our Country Parks. All of our sessions have a Pay and Display Public Car Park with the exception of Thorney. If you are attending the Thorney session for the first time, please contact us for more detailed directions.
Do I need to pay for parking?
No. Please park your car and head to the meeting point. If you have told us you need a temporary parking permit for the session, please let the Ranger know your registration number and they will provide you with a permit for the duration of the task.
What do I need to bring into the event?
Please bring drinks and any snacks required for the duration of the event. Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear - the woodlands can be very muddy and uneven.
