About this event

BST is a peer support group that provides safe, supportive, and therapeutic spaces for Black university students to meet, share, learn and manage their own and each other’s mental health and wellbeing. The sessions are based on Ubuntu, Narrative, Humanistic, and other talking therapy principles. Students are introduced to peer health psychoeducation and take part in one-to-one and group discussions on topics that are relevant to their mental health.

Yannick Yalipende is currently completing an MSc in Applied Neuropsychology at University of Bristol, where he previously graduated with a BSc in Experimental Psychology. Yannick is also the Founding Director of Black People Talk (BPT); an initiative he co-developed with the sole purpose of supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the UK’s Black community, through psychoeducational and therapeutic peer support groups.

This session is for students who are Black or Black Mixed African and Caribbean heritage .
