Starting Reception is a huge milestone for you and your child. As they take their first steps on their educational journey, it is completely natural to find yourself filled with a mix of emotions - excitement, anticipation, and perhaps a few nerves too.
Blackheath High Junior School, an award-winning independent school for girls aged 3-18 in Southeast London, invites you to an information evening, packed with advice, ideas and ways to support your child as you both prepare for school. Our specialist teachers have joined forces with education expert Dr Kathy Weston of Tooled Up Education, to create a workshop exploring topics like:
- How to choose a great school for your child
- How to prepare for the transition into Reception, from creating a routine to setting your child up for success, to visiting and talking about school
- Supporting your child as they adjust to their new setting
- Common challenges you may face
- Help and advice for managing anxiety around starting school
Join us at Blackheath High Junior School at 6pm for drinks and nibbles, followed by the workshop from 6.30-7.30pm.
Booking is free, attendance is limited so please sign up to secure your place. Please note that we are unable to accommodate children at this event.
