Event description

Description

To celebrate the end of the 'January Blues', we are hosting our first Blackwell's Open Mic Night on Tuesday 30th January. This evening will contain a mix of music performance and poetry readings from an array of talented local performers. Everyone is welcome to come along and listen, places for this event are free to register.

7pm - Paul (Poetry)

7:10pm - Alicia (Musician)

Hailing from Essex, Alicia has been performing and songwriting from a very young age, something that has seen her fronting rock bands, jazz bands and as a solo artist. Currently studying in Oxford she's set to explore the local open mic scene, and she's chosen Blackwell's to be her Oxford 'debut'! With a love of the blues and a guitar in her hands, expect to hear an 80s pop song like never before, a track all the way from Tennessee and an original in between.

7:20pm - Shannon (Poetry)

Shannon is a writer originally from New Jersey, but is currently studying publishing at Oxford Brookes University. She mostly writes poetry about places and events, such as the two she's sharing here, which were inspired by her time in North Carolina.

7:30pm - Lucy (Flash Fiction)

7:40pm - Sophia (Poetry)

7:50pm - Amber (Musician)

From Nashville, Tennessee, Amber's music errs on the side of folk Americana. Her music focuses on the positive, bringing love into every lyric.

8pm - Rehema (Poetry)

8:10pm - Carl (Poetry)

Carl Tomlinson lives on a smallholding in North Oxfordshire. He’s a writer, business consultant, coach and amateur actor.

8:20pm - Adam & Immy (Musician)
