Events are provided free to celebrate William Blake in Felpham by the Blake Cottage Trust. All profits from donations on the day will go to Blake Cottage Trust 12pm‘Man Without A Mask’ - A wonderful, inspiring theatrical performance in Rectory Gardens, Felpham by Ruth Rosen, incorporating Blake’s poems, letters and prose writings, a stone’s throw from Blake’s Cottage.
1.15pmRefreshments (self funded), including local beers and food, in The Fox pub, with its made famous by Blake’s altercation with a soldier, leading to his arrest for sedition.
2.30pmA fascinating guided walk through old Felpham, led by local resident and Blake Cottage Trust Ambassador, Jane Summerville. Jane will be talking about this unique seaside Sussex village with its historic buildings, including Blake’s Cottage and the beautiful 12th century Church, as well as its famous local previous residents.
3.30pmFree time to explore the area, visit the seafront, and relax before….
6.00pmAn evening concert in St Mary’s Church, by West Sussex multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, Jack Boyd who will be performing his folk music and setting music to some of Blake’s poetry.
Acoustics in the church are wonderful and will be a perfect venue for Jack’s talents.
Wine will be served and donations very welcome for The Blake Cottage Trust & Save Felpham Post Office.
