Week 2: Shaping Bowls
Focus: Opening and pulling walls to create bowl shapes.
Challenge: Learn to control bowl thickness and explore shaping techniques.
Week 3: Throwing Cylinders for Mugs
Learn: Refining cylinder shapes and creating a uniform mug body.
Bonus: Demonstration and practice of handle pulling techniques.
Week 4: Plates and Functional Forms
Focus: Throwing wide, flat forms such as plates or shallow dishes.
Learn: Managing clay thickness and avoiding cracks during drying.
Week 5: Trimming, Refining, and Decorating
Learn: Trimming foot rings, smoothing surfaces, and refining forms.
Decoration: Explore underglazing, carving, and texturing techniques.
Week 6: Glazing & Finishing Touches
Learn: Introduction to glazing techniques (dipping, brushing, layering).
Practice: Glaze your pieces using a selection of studio glazes for a professional finish.
