Project curator Phil Morton writes
This project has excellent potential to create a space and a place where we can `create something new in a musical sense owned by those present`, where the number of those in the room is higher rather than lower, and the frequency of engagement is regular and frequent.
Geography: Birmingham, being in the Midlands, makes sense, and the Midland Arts Centre, Music Room Two, is a space fit for a purpose: that is, to create music generated by listening.
Then listening fowards, as the projects develops the ensemble will have the option of performing at Centrala, and making connections with other iterations of the Ensemble System 50:50 in Sound in London, the regions and online.
The finances are in place for ten session through to the end of 2026
