How can I get to Safety Central?

While a great venue, Safety Central is not served by public transport.

We have a decent sized carpark, bike racks and an E Charger.

Please remember to use our carpark, and not the fire station's.

No, no need to print a ticket.

Do I need to print my online training certificate?

Accepted Answer

We need to see the completed certificate, and you may find it easiest to print it out. You can however show it as an electric file.

I am a Young Leaders. Can I attend?

Is there a charge?

Accepted Answer

No, the course is free. We do however have a voluntary donation tin available on the night.

Can I complete the online training after attending the face-to-face session?

Accepted Answer

No - you MUST complete the online training first. If you are unable to complete it in time, please cancel your place, as we operate a wait-list.

I may deliver first aid as part of my job - do I need to attend?

Accepted Answer

The Scouts recognises that some professions, by the nature of the job, will have a first aid element (e.g. Nurses, Midwives, Police Officers, Medical Practitioners, HM Armed Forces, EMT1/Paramedics/Technicians, etc).
If your training is up to date this should be sufficient.

I have a Full First Aid certificate - do I need to attend?

Full First Aid certificate

To fulfil the Full First Aid certificate requirements in POR, volunteers must hold a first aid qualification provided by a regulated body certifying their attendance of a 16 hours first aid course.

Examples of regulated providers include: St John Ambulance etc.

Where does my training need to be recorded?

We will issue a certificate, and you need to be locally entered on Compass as having completed the training. We do not log you directly to Compass.

I have to bring my child along - is this OK?

Accepted Answer

This is a course aimed at Young Leaders and above. There are some sensitive subjects covered that may not be suitable for young children. There are however seating areas where your child could sit and read/study and which can be directly observed from the training area.

Are refreshments provided?

We provide tea and coffee. We generally only have cows milk available. If you are rushed for time, there are a number of food outlets at Lymm Services.

How long does the online training take?

I am bringing a young leader - is there anywhere for me to wait?

You are welcome to wait in our canteen area. Close by is Lymm Services which has a Costa or McDonalds.
