Description

Blender 2.8 is the new version of Blender, a free and open source 3D creation software. This software is widely used by 3D artists, and including those working in animation, video games, and VFX.

In this course, you will learn to use Blender 2.8, including the most important tools, while creating the 3D model of a building.

The course is 16 hours long, divided in 4 days (2 weekends): 2nd and 3rd, and 16th and 17th of November. It will take place at the Spectrum Heritage office, in Leith, Edinburgh.


Course Content

- Introduction to the Blender 2.8 interface.

- 3D modelling practice: Creation of a 3D model of Netherbow Port, a 17th century building.

- Materials and texturing.

- Lighting, rendering, and compositing.


Who is this course directed to?

Anyone who wants to learn how to create 3D models. Anyone who wants to learn how to use Blender 2.8.


What do I need to enrol on this course?

This course doesn't require any prior knowledge about Blender or any other 3D modelling software. We'll start with the basics, including how to install Blender 2.8 on your computer.

However, you will need to bring your own laptop to the course. Make sure it can run Blender. The hardware requirements can be found here: https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/ The minimum will be enough for what we will do.
