To keep books out of landfill , SoLo Craft Fair will be treating guests to a 'Blind Date with a Book'... what on earth does this mean we hear you cry?!
Well, the concept is simple (if not a little abstract) - there will be a shelf in the SoLo Craft Fair shop in Brixton with a selection of 'blind' books on offer.
Blind books are books with their covers hidden under wrapping paper, with only a few written details describing what you can expect from your book date. Everyone who comes can choose a book based purely on its 'personality'. Will you be choosing a dangerous, classic or romantic date? And what's better still, it will be free to meet your date and take them home with you! (If you have any 'dates' at home that you no longer feel the spark with, feel free to bring them and swap for a new model - this is encouraged in this new line of dating but you are welcome to turn up completely unattached!)
With our 'Blind Date with a Book' we plan to bring a bit of cheer to the community. All books will be second hand so the concept is completely sustainable and doesn't cost anything to those taking part.
The Blind Date with a Book bookshelf will be inside our Independent Gift shop, please come in and pick yourself up a free book and browse the wares of our incredbile makers and designers whilst you visit.
If you have any spare books you no longer need - please bring them with you to we can add them to our collection - this event relies on the donations to keep going!
The SoLo Craft Fair Shop will be open, showcasing the designs of over 50 makers, and as it is nestled in the heart of Brixton Village there are lots of food and drink options so you can make a day of it.
