Have you been meaning to start a blog but have no idea where to begin? This short, practical workshop will show you how to create, write, market and manage a successful blog.

Who is it for? Whether you’re a small business wanting to market your products or services, an author wanting to promote your books - or get a book deal, a budding food, travel or political blogger, a hobbyist wanting to share a passion, or simply want to start a personal blog, you need an audience. This workshop will show you how.

What do you need? No prior experience of blogging is required. Please bring a wireless-enabled laptop if you want to start creating your blog during the session. Free wifi is provided.

Jon Reed runs the successful blog Publishing Talk, which has over 340,000 followers on Twitter (@publishingtalk). He has taught social media for 10 years as a university guest lecturer, in-house trainer, workshop leader, conference speaker and Guardian Masterclass tutor.

The Lightbox is an award-winning gallery and museum in Woking, overlooking the Basingstoke Canal. It's just a five minute walk from Woking station, which is 30 minutes from Waterloo.


Booking

Places available: This workshop runs with a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 30.

Cancellations: You can cancel 4 weeks or more before a workshop for a full refund. For cancellations of 1-4 weeks before a workshop, a charge of 50% of the course fee will apply unless we can re-fill the place or you can substitute a delegate. We cannot issue refunds for cancellations within 1 week of a workshop, and the full fee will apply. We reserve the right to cancel workshops at short notice if dates are under-subscribed, in which case you may opt for a full refund or a place on another workshop. Please check with us prior to making travel arrangements, unless we've confirmed the date with you.
