2 hands on activities showing how capillaries work and enabling your pupils to see their pulse
About this event
Fiona is an experienced science technician in a secondary school. This is a amkealong session and she will be taking your class through two, easy activities, linking to blood, blood vessels and the heart:
1. They will discover how capillaries work: a straightforward activity involving paper flowers and water
2. They will use mini marshmallows and cocktail sticks to see their pulse
The resource requirement is minimal but includes , per child,1 cocktail stick, 1 mini marshmallow, a small, shallow container (saucer), scissors and the printed flower template that we will send beforehand.
There will be plenty of opportunities for your class to ask questions via the chat/Q&A.
We hope that you would like to join us for this 30 minute session.
