Description

Blue-Action presents a series of webinars on science communication specifically aimed at climate researchers. Delivered by a range of experts in the field, these talks are designed as introductions to the topics for those who want to engage different audiences with their work.

Each webinar begins at 13:00 (CEST), and will last for 30 minutes with 10 minutes Q&A at the end. All webinars will be made available the day after the talk on the Blue-Action website, www.blue-action.eu.

To attend, please register for a ticket for each talk you are interested in joining. The link to the webinar will be sent out the day before to ticketholders. You can add or cancel tickets at any time.


19th June, 13:00 (CEST) Talking to the media

This talk will discuss how to capture media attention for your research, and how to work with journalist to share messages.


17th July, 13:00 (CEST) Designing infographics

The aim of this session will be to introduce turning research into visually appealing and easy-to-read infographics for a wide variety of audiences.


21st August, 13:00 (CEST) The art of pitching

This Pitch Training talk aims to increase your understanding of what makes a great pitch, especially when dealing with science-based research or eco-ventures.


18th September, 13:00 (CEST) Communicate climate science better by taking risks

The aim of this session is to examine what is at risk when communicating, and to argue that there is nothing that carries more risk than an inflexible, impersonal approach.


15th October, 13:00 (CEST) Engaging with European policymakers

This talk will give a perspective on how to link your research with policy-makers, for science than can have an impact on society.
