Information about the play
A bit about the play…
The 'Elephant in the Room' is a comedy once again set in the fictional village of Bramley. It is generally a quiet and small village, but as you may remember from last year's play Bread and Butter, anything can happen.
And so, it was…
Just another day in Bramley—or so we thought—until a strange lady appears in the local antique charity shop, 'Chantiques,' asking about an item she had left by mistake. As the strange lady becomes more insistent in her quest to retrieve the item, it is soon revealed who she is and why it is so important. Rita, the shop owner, realises that the only way to save her failing shop and pay off her mounting debts is to retrieve the item before the strange lady does. It becomes a race against the clock as Rita, along with her shop assistant and good friend Sue, embarks on a mission to locate the item purchased during a rather hectic week. To whom they don’t know, but what they do know is that they must get to it first. The Bramley bumbles continue….
A bit about the event…
This is the second in our series of play-reading sessions brought to life by some lovely local ladies whom you might know. What is a play reading session, I hear you say. Well, it’s a well-rehearsed play reading performance with the scripts in hand, it's still got lots of props, and our performers move about a bit, too. This is the first showing of this new play, and so we hope you enjoy it. As always, there will be a bar, refreshments, and a raffle. And lastly…
We hope you can join us. It’ll be a night of laughs and giggles, a few drinks, and, of course, lots of lovely people. See you there
Thanking you all muchly!
