Event description

Description

This 1 day course is a basic introduction to the Blue Sky therapy approach, which is based on Pivotal Response Therapy (PRT).

PRT is one of the best validated interventions for young children with autism spectrum conditions and has a key focus on developing speech, communication and social skill.

This course is aimed at professionals working with young children who may be showing red flags for/ have an early diagnosis of autism. Focusing on the theory and research behind our approach, alongside providing practical examples of strategies and steps to implement PRT in the home, we aim to empower parents/ family members to begin to understand how to work with their child in the natural environment to develop communication, interaction and play skills.

This course will be delivered by Blue Sky's founder and volunteer CEO, Dr Ruth Glynne-Owen. Dr Ruth has over 20 years experience of working with children and young people with ASD, developmental challenges and speech and language difficulties. She brings a wealth of knowledge to this field and is the only UK based practitioner specialising in PRT with early years children.
