The heart of innovation and transformation in emergency response, resilience and blue light services in the UK.
The best conference you have ever been to
BlueLightCamp is a conference that is planned on the day, by the people who turn up. This pretty much guarantees that if you come, you will have a brilliant time. You will shape the discussion. You will decide what workshops run. You will decide when to listen and when to discuss.
It's aimed at people in the emergency services, people who work with them (like health service and local government workers) and people working in in emergencies (including volunteers).
On the Saturday we will run an "unconference" which really will be the best conference you've ever been to.
A chance to create something real
BlueLightCamp appeals to people who don't just want to talk about things, they want to make a change.
We'll have people who want to build a new web service that makes use of publicly available data to imrpve emergency response.
We'll have people who want to create a toolkit to help blue light services make better use of social media without having to reinvent the wheel.
We'll have people who want to build a prototype for a brand new way of doing things.
On the Sunday we will run a hackday (a "hack" in this context is a "quick-fix" not an attempt to break into a computer system- that's probably important to stress).
If you want to really make things better in blue light services, in emergency management or in the public sector more generally, this is your chance.
And it's free
Did we not mention that?
No really. This is a free event, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the dedication of the organising committee and the awesomeness of West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service.
You pay nothing.
And because we run it on a weekend you probably don't even need to get time off work
The hashtag is officially #ukblc15 Yes we know there are shorter options but we are trying to avoid the dreaded hash-clash.
