Our blues club nights have become one of our most popular evenings of the month. And deservedly so too. They get better and better and are now sold out until September.
We have just finalised (pretty much) the line-up for October. There may be one or two more surprise guests but a couple of fabulous MIdlands musicians have already confirmed.
Amit Dattani
Folk, blues and Americana singer-songwriter AMIT DATTANI has garnered attention from the likes of BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, Americana UK and fRoots, with his nimble finger-picking and expertly crafted songwriting. Named in ‘Best Gigs of 2023’ by Tradfolk, Amit is a joy to watch live, with recent performances at Warwick Folk Festival, Upton Blues, Moseley Folk Festival and Birmingham Symphony Hall to name a few.
Amit will be performing songs from his hugely anticipated new album ‘Wrong Kind of One’
Sunjay
Sunjay is the antithesis of your typical denim clad disheveled folk and blues musician. From his perfectly groomed hair to his spotlessly shining winkle picker boots he walks onto the stage every inch the "city slicker." When Sunjay starts to sing and play the guitar however, you are transported to a world where blues and country music meld seamlessly amidst humid mangrove swamps and red neck barbecues. Sunjay is, without doubt, the real deal.
Drawing from a rich, musical, and cultural background it is hardly surprising that Sunjay has quickly become recognised as one of the UK’s rising stars. His performances have been described as “mature and confident,” while his guitar playing has been hailed as, “superb, brilliant, experienced, intricate amd faultless.” Sunjay’s style has that natural drift between folk and blues.
Our resident house band, The Swaps, will be hosting, so Beth, Adam, Tomo and James will be peforming their own songs with Amit and Sunjay each performing sets of original material.
There will also be an extended jam at the end and unexpected and unrehearsed collaborations. Keeps the sound guy guessing. Always brilliant evenings.
Always sells out very quick indeed.
