Fancy learning to dance? Blues dancing is a fantastic place to start! It’s relaxed, creative, and easy to pick up, even if you’ve never danced before.

Blues dance is an improvised partner dance with deep roots in blues music. It’s all about feeling the rhythm, moving naturally, and connecting with your partner (or dancing solo if you prefer!). Come on your own or with friends.

✨ A small, welcoming class with lots of individual attention
✨ Learn the basics, different holds, turns, and how to move to the music
✨ A fun, friendly social dance after class—stay and practice what you’ve learned!

🚆 Easy to reach by public transport—just a short walk from Newcastle train station
🚗 Driving? Free parking is available at the bottom of Westgate Rd (NE4 6AA), and a group of us can walk together to our cars at the end of the night.

About Your Teacher:
Melissa has years of experience teaching dance in the UK and internationally. She also teaches at Dance City and runs monthly blues events and the Belta Blues Weekender.
Join us for a relaxed, welcoming night of dancing, connection, and fun! 🎶✨Blues dancing comes from the same tradition as blues music. It is an improvised, relaxed dance. No previous dance experience needed. No partner needed.
