Description

Practicing Medicine is a great privilege – but currently it often feels burdensome” – does this resonate with you?

The BMA Local Engagement Trial (SW) presents Dr Andrew Tresidder, a Somerset GP with a particular interest in the Health of Health Professionals, will discuss ways to enhance your personal resilience and your enjoyment of life and medicine:

  • Doctors’ Health and Stress physiology;
  • the Physiology of emotions; Personal power in the consulting room;
  • the Drama Triangle;
  • Ten top tips for being a patient; a doctor to a physician patient; and for doctoring children whose parents are doctors;
  • Interpersonal energy flows; the Wheel of Life, and some simple tools to re-balance.

Participation in this workshop aims to be interactive, engaging and fun, providing tools and insights to help you combat the stress of medical practice. It has been delivered across the South West during the past 18 months with excellent feedback and doctors appreciating the opportunity to reflect on and consider a range of important issues common to all.

Designed for all doctors working in the hospital setting in all branches of practice and at all stages of your career in medicine. BMA Members and non-Members are welcome – the afternoon is free to attend but registration is essential via Eventbrite. Please let colleagues know about this opportunity.

A light lunch will be available from 13:15 in the Education Centre.
