BMC Client Club: What have professional qualifications ever done for us?

If so, what makes you qualified? CIM? B2B Marketing? A marketing degree? Your experience? Or something else?
If not, why not? What’s the value in being qualified?
What does it mean to the B2B marketing professionals and the not-we who hire us?
Is there value in a more formal set of marketing qualifications so that there’s some commonality in marketing approaches? Or would that make us into a bunch of undifferentiated monkeys?
