Event description

Description

The British Mountaineering Council's (BMC) Peak Area is offering a led hill walk from Old Glossop, to explore part of the Bleaklow moors, whilst allowing participants to see at close-hand some of Moors For The Future Partnership's wonderful moorland recovery work.

This free hill walk, to be led by local BMC hill walking volunteer Peter Judd, will be around nine miles in length and aims to visit Higher Shelf Stones, Bleaklow Head and Torside Clough. Participants should come prepared for some steep ascents, traversing rough, sometimes boggy, sometimes rocky ground and not always on good paths.

Participants are advised to wear stout hill walking boots, good warm and weatherproof clothing. Please bring food and drink to last the day. Gaiters are also recommended.

For any further information, please email Peter: Peak10roam-bmc@yahoo.co.uk
