BMF Session - Inverleith Park, Edinburgh
Sat 1 April 2017, 11:00 – 12:00 BST
BMF was founded in 1999 to encourage more people to get active in the great outdoors.
It quickly became the UK’s number one choice for group, outdoor exercise because its fun but challenging group classes are suitable for all abilities and are led by military-trained professionals, all year round, in any weather conditions, in almost 140 different parks all over the UK.
Our members have experienced life-changing results, made new friends – and made friends with the mud too! But don’t take our word for it, here’s 43-year-old Liz, a mother-of-two, to tell it like it really is:
“You don’t realise how hard you’re working because the class is broken up into lots of different activities. But you push yourself harder than you would if you were doing a workout on your own because you want to keep up with the person next to you. But, really, it’s you against yourself and there’s absolutely no disgrace in coming last. No, the instructors don’t shout at you. There’s plenty of banter and there’s nothing like hearing your bib number being called out to spur you on when that voice in your head is saying, “I can’t do any more!” You really can. Everyone encourages everyone else. Some of us wear activity trackers which show you cover up to 3 miles and burn up to 700 calories a class!"

Here’s what some of our other 15,000 members have to say:
“I saw an advert on Facebook for a free BMF trial session, and thought, why not? Got nothing to lose, except my breath. When I got there, to my surprise (and relief) I saw lots of people of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities. The bib system means that the super sporty people go off and get the workout they need, while beginners like me work with people of a similar fitness. Now when I go, I tell the newbies: “This is your hardest session. If you can do this one, you can do them all.”
"I thought I was fit doing three body combat and four gym sessions per week. Now I'm really fit! BMF gives you confidence. You feel so chilled and relaxed after a session. Also, you laugh a lot and it just feels so damn good! I couldn't imagine not doing BMF."
"I have done three sessions and am behind all the blues, but I absolutely love it! I have given up my gym membership, and am determined not to be fat and fifty."
