About Axematic
Drawing inspiration from Caravaggio, Van Eyck, Rubens, and other Renaissance masters, Axematic creates contemporary portraits that pulse with historical reverence and modern relevance. Working across pastels, digital media, and experimental formats like "Touchstone" textured printing, his art portrays predominantly Black subjects in dramatic, grandiose fashion - celebrating everyday heroes who shape our communities.
Beyond portraiture, expect powerful social commentary covering history, race, politics, and culture, creating conversations that are sometimes deliberately uncomfortable in their necessity. Axematic delves into "magical reality" and mirror universes, experimenting with abstract and cubist styles while maintaining his signature painterly approach.
