About this event

It’s widely understood today that inviting diverse thought into the boardroom is a welcome, even necessary, business objective. While all organisations must now meet the minimum requirements set by UK legislation – covering age, disability, race, religion, gender and sexual orientation among others – the most innovative organisations now want to delve deeper into the issues to create real value, both in terms of individual and organisational success.

In this full-day event, we give our stage to leaders who have a wide range of experience helping talent resourcing and business leaders develop their approach towards diversity and inclusivity in the boardroom.

About the speakers

Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE, author of 7 Traits of Highly Successful Women on Boards: Views from the top and how to get there

The voice of experience and a direct speaker on the challenges we are facing in business to nurture talent from underrepresented groups, Yvonne know how we can support them all the way to the Boardroom. Yvonne was a member of the committee, chaired by Sir John Parker, that produced Beyond One by '21 - A Report into the Ethnic Diversity of UK Boards

.Malcolm Mccaig, Chairman, Unum Ltd.

Malcolm holds a portfolio of Non Executive Director positions.  He is currently the Chairman of Unum Ltd, the largest provider of Group Income Protection in the UK.   In addition, he is on the boards of QBE Europe, Ageas UK, Tradition and 4 most.  In previous roles, he was Chairman of Kent Reliance Building Society, Barbon Insurance Group, OneSavings Bank, and Caley Ltd.  He has also served on the Audit Committee and Management Board of the House of Lords.
