It's Boardgayme's 2nd Birthday. To celebrate we've got bday cake for all attendees (It will be vegan and we will also have gluten free brownies) and as usual play some board games.

As always BYOBG! Bring Your Own Board Games!

TTRPG One-shot Tickets! You will need an attendance ticket as well as the one-shot add-on to take part. Here's what our DM Jenny has to say:

“I was thinking about running a one shot called "The Pantomime King" which is a one shot by Pointy Hat. I'll be running D&D 5e 2014, and it's for 4-5 level 5 characters, which makes it a little less specifically geared to first timers, but it could definitely work for anyone who wants to join.

PLOT: A Devil from the Hells called the Pantomime King has decided to take over an abandoned castle and declare himself King of the region, and he plans to establish the first Hellish kingdom on the mortal plane. He is capturing the townsfolk and bending them to his will as his subjects and courtiers, and it's up to the adventurers to stop him!

ACCESSIBILITY: I will send out an email in advance to all the players asking about any ways I can make the session more accessible for them. CWs would be some light (mostly just thematic and could easily be removed if anyone would like!) body horror stuff, as well as mind control (pretty big part of the plot) and fire/lava/hell stuff (your standard devil shit really). “

Accessibility

Lovelocks is a ground floor venue*, there are two gender neutral toilets, and one is accessible. The cafe will be serving only drinks & cakes at regular prices, with vegan and gluten-free options available. We've received feedback from neurodiverse visitors to our events that the space can be quite loud and overwhelming to those with sensory issues, and we sadly do not have a quiet area available to use (we are working to find a solution!). Please be aware of this if you want to attend. You are welcome to bring whatever aids or tools will help you - stim toys, ear plugs etc. We have an add on to allow anyone who needs a support worker/carer to have them attend for free.

*wheelchair users, please be warned the door is quite heavy. There are also steps on the pavement, but in the middle there is a level approach suitable for wheelchairs.

Ticket Price

This an unsponsored event, so same as last time, we're charging £3.50 for a ticket. This will cover venue hire and Lovelocks staff costs to provide coffee and cake. The rest is unavoidable Eventbrite fees. A number of free tickets are available if you cannot afford this - Please select "Free Ticket".

Contact us via Eventbrite or via our Instagram (@boardgaymesliverpool) for more details.

Frequently asked questions

I'm not queer but am supportive/with a queer friend, can I still come?

Of course! If you're accepting of the queer community, we're accepting of you, and we'll be happy to have you join us. Queer solidarity!

I have sensory issues - is there a quiet space for me to use?

Sadly, no - Lovelocks is a small, one room venue and the event can get very loud. Please feel free to bring earplugs, ear defenders, stim toys or whatever helps you to feel comfortable during events like this. We are hoping to run more events that would be sensory friendly soon!

How accessible is the venue?

Lovelocks is a ground-floor venue*. There are two gender neutral toilets, and one is accessible. *wheelchair users, please be warned the door is quite heavy. There are also steps on the pavement, but in the middle is a level approach suitable for wheelchairs.

Will food and drink be available?

The Lovelocks folks are kindly providing drinks and cake at the event, and are charging their normal retail price for all items. We do recommend eating a meal before you get here though! Cake is great, but cake for dinner (whilst delicious) isn't recommended.

I can't afford a ticket, but I'd still like to come!

We would love to have you join us! We have a small amount of free tickets on hold for those who can't afford the ticket price. Please select "Free Ticket". If they have sold out, Contact us via Eventbrite or via our Instagram (@boardgaymesliverpool) and we'll see what we can do.

I need my support worker/carer with me. Do I need to buy another ticket?

Please select the "Support worker/Carer" add on when you're booking your tickets. There will be no additional charge for this, don't worry!
