Join us for this event led by Andrew, who will share his experience of building and managing a NED portfolio.

Andrew is a Chartered Banker, Chartered Director, Certified Bank Director and Business Consultant.

Following a 30-year banking career in which he held positions including CEO of Barclays Bank Ireland plc and CEO & Country Manager of BNP Paribas Ireland, in 2015 he transitioned to Non-Executive and Consultancy roles.

In 2015 Andrew joined Philippe Cosson in AP Partners which helps clients to Empower their organisation. Andrew has a long-standing passion for education and personal development within the workplace and he served as President of The Institute of Banking in Ireland in 2012.

With an ongoing interest in value creation, Andrew is a Consultant to Valuation Consulting LLP, a London-based firm which specialises in the valuation of Intellectual Property in particular and Intangible Assets in general.

He is an experienced Independent Non-Executive Director and currently holds the following positions;

  • Board Member of Ireland’s State-owned Electricity Supply Board (Ministerial Appointment), where he Chairs the Finance & Investment Committee and is a member of both the Audit & Risk and the Remuneration Committees.
  • Independent Non-Executive Director of Elavon Financial Services DAC, where he Chairs the Board Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee.
  • Independent Non-Executive Director of Pepper Finance Corporation (Ireland) DAC where he Chairs the Audit & Risk Committee.
  • Andrew currently Chairs the INED Forum within the Banking & Payments Federation Ireland.

Based in Ayrshire, Scotland, Andrew is an Alumni of Dundee University. He is married with three children in further education and is a keen walker (national trails).

Whether you are starting out on your Board career, or looking to shape and manage your Board portfolio, this will be an ideal event to help you to reflect on your aspirations, and to tap into some sound guidance from an experienced Director.

The event will take place at the Brewin Dolphin Offices in Glasgow, and the event will run from 18:15 to 19:45 (doors open 18:00 to enable prompt start at 18:15). Donations of £5 are most welcome (for collection at the event).

This is a members only event, so please do not share the event with non-members. If for any reason you cannot attend after booking, please cancel your place via Eventbrite to allow someone on the waiting list to take your place.
