Through a series of step-by-step writing activities, inspirational prompts and close discussion of example poems we will experiment with the possibilities of ‘pan-temporal parallelism’; a poetic strategy which encourages the reader to simultaneously reinterpret the contemporary moment through the lenses provided by myth and history’, and view the historical and mythic through our contemporary concerns.
