This workshop brings together artists, craftspeople, designers, medical professionals and academics interested in exploring new ways of understanding the interior of the human body. In this event, we will explore social, artistic and scientific understandings of the body’s interior, followed by a discussion of visual representations of bodily interiors from a range of sources – from historical medical illustrations to pathology specimens to contemporary art practice.

Thinking Futures - The University of Bristol's Festival of Social Sciences and Law
The Thinking Futures festival 2016 takes place on the 5 - 12 November and aims to share and celebrate research from the University of Bristol's Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.
The programme comprises a wide variety of events for the general public, schools, policy-makers and third sector organisations, held in Bristol.
Engage with our researchers and see how the social sciences inform key debates and advances in policy and practice for governments, education, charities, health services, legal systems, and public services around the globe.
There are nine events being held this year across a wide array of topics and the festival is being co-ordinated by the Centre for Public Engagement and PolicyBristol as part of the national ESRC's Festival of Social Sciences.
