Event description

Description

On Monday 10th July 2017, the BOLD AS Quintet will do TWO concerts: one will take place in central Deal and one will take place in central Dover.
The BOLD AS Quintet comprises the leaders of the BOLD AS brass education project, all among the most experienced brass players in the UK including Tim Hayward (trumpeter in Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment), Letty Stott (horn player with Covent Garden) and Phil White (trombone with Philharmonia Orchestra).
You and your students will listen to a 45 minutes concert of brass music performed and presented by the BOLD AS quintet musicians, with lots of audience participation.

TIMINGS - The concert starts promptly at 12.45pm. Schools will need to arrive by 12.15pm to be seated by 12.35pm at the latest. The concert is 45 minutes in length.

COST - Attendance is FREE to young people at local Kent schools, and to accompanying staff and their parents. We very much encourage parents/carers to attend this concert for free, too, but they will have to be seated with the school and arrive with the school.
BOOKING - You will be asked to fill in a short booking form, which indicates exactly how many young people, staff and parents/carers will be attending. We will need this in advance of the concert, and cannot guarantee space if you turn up unexpectedly on the day. We are limiting each school to bring only one class, in order that other schools can benefit from the concert.
TARGET YEAR GROUP - KS1, 2 & 3
GETTING THERE - We advise that you attend the concert from your school via walking bus as there is limited parking locally.
NOTE ABOUT THE AUDIENCE - The concert is also open to the general public, so please be aware of this in advance. We need to ensure that all children are accompanied by your school staff at all times (to toilets, and so on) and that they need to be on their very best behaviour throughout (of which we have no doubt that they will be, of course!). Please ensure that children bring a bottle of water or squash (and small snack if needed) with them to the concert.
BEFORE THE CONCERT:

We would be happy to try to arrange a visit from a brass player to your school in advance of this concert. Please be in touch with Education Director Laura Callaghan Grooms if you wish for us to arrange this (limited availability): laura@handonheartarts.com
