About this event

Arts • Theatre

This event is part of the Yorkshire Festival of Story.

In 2005, Sita went to Laos to see the Plain of Jars.

“Here, take this: a souvenir from Laos,” the young guide said, handing her a piece of unexploded ordnance.

She carried the bomb in her pocket for a week.

It was then she began to understand what had really happened in this small land-locked country most people can’t find on a map.

Bombs at my Feet tells three stories: Sita’s journey, the secret war that devastated Laos, and the ancient tales the Lao people tell to make sense of the unexplainable.

What connects them? The truth about who profits from war, and why the bombs are still falling.

60 minutes. Questions afterwards.

Trigger Warning: Contains descriptions of war, bombing, violence, death, and trauma. Audience discretion is advised.

iPhone/iPad users: Please note that due to Apple’s restrictions on in-app purchases, it is not possible to purchase tickets for this event using the Eventbrite app. Please use the browser on your phone or computer instead.
