Description

Remember Remember the 5th of November... I hope you will after a fun filled morning at Roundwood celebrating Bonfire Night!

We will creating our own version of sparklers by creating sparks from fire strikers and lighting mini fires using a variety of different natural tinders. On the camp fire we will be cooking bangers and toffee apples and we will be inspired by the Autumnal colours of the leaves by making firework art and bonfire collages. There will also be Bonfire Night colouring in sheets- create natural colours made by squashing plants and flowers .

You will have the opportunity to work with me using a knife and mallet to create kindling for the fire and make fire flower sticks to take home. Make a Guy to take home made from twigs, clay and leaves. Sit around the camp fire and watch the magical multi-coloured flames - the rainbow colours created by my magic dust ! Go on a stick hunt to help fuel the fire or make your own stick 'bonfire' using leaves for flames and twigs for the wood . Or enjoy the surroundings and explore using my field kit- will you find a fire beetle or fire weed ? Bonfire night is huge fun for us humans, but other creatures aren’t quite so keen and are looking for somewhere safe to hibernate for the winter. You can make a bug home or hedgehog house to take home by upcycling junk! Or make your own den, a den building kit will be on hand to borrow. Find a stick and make it look like a firework or sparkler using colourful leaves and glitter.
