Bonfire Night: Can AI ignite learning?

It’s Bonfire Night and we are surrounded by AI. What’s going up in smoke? Student learning, staff morale for teaching, the security of assessment, the future of universities? This lecture will get close to the fireworks going off in all areas of academia, examine the dangers and debates, then explore the hopeful spark of ethical use of AI for learning.

Professor Mary Davis is the first UK professor of academic integrity and is delighted to have gained her National Teaching Fellowship (2024) and Principal Fellowship HEA (2023) for her contributions to inclusive academic integrity in institutional, national and international contexts.
