Event description
An opportunity for local breastfeeding families to come together for a walk, enjoy the fresh air, talking & each others company.

About this event

Please book a ticket for each adult attending and let us know how many children under 5 will be with you. We are sorry but at this time no children over 5 can attend the walk.

There is a new pay car park at Staunton County Park just off the B2149 (the postcode PO9 5HD should take you to it). If you park at Staunton Farm please cross the road with care and follow signs to the car park, past the café. There is free street parking in the area but please take care crossing the main road if you choose to do this.

We aim to meet by the information boards at the entrance to the park from the car park at 9.45am to start walking at 10.00am.

Look out for the Breastfeeding Network Peer Supporter who will facilitate the group - they will be wearing their ID badges & Hi-Vis vests.

Public toilets and a café are available.

We will walk down the path, around the lake & back again. There will also be the opportunity to sit on the grass and have a chat near the café at the end. The path is suitable for buggies. Please be aware that the path has a couple of steep hills and runs next to the lake. Appropriate footwear & clothing for outdoors is advised. If the weather is warm please bring sun-cream and water with you.

This is an area for dog walkers - well behaved family dogs are welcome to join but please be mindful of other families.

We would encourage anyone attending to take a lateral flow test beforehand. Details of how to order these can be found at https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests.

Health information - please only book a place at the walk if you can answer NO to all the following points for yourself and anyone in your household -

  • Are you currently required to self-isolate?
  • Have you, or anyone in your household, returned from a current quarantine area in the last 14 days?
  • Do you currently have any symptoms that you suspect could be coronavirus? These are currently listed as a fever, new continuous cough or change in sense of taste/smell (or have you had any symptoms in the last 14 days)

Upon arrival you will be asked to confirm that you can still answer no to the points above and that you have not been in contact with anyone suspected of having Covid -19 or who is self-isolating due to Covid-19.

By booking a place at this walk you agree to share your contact details at the start of the event so that we have them for Test and Protect. You can only attend the walk if you are happy to share your details.

We ask that you maintain the recommended 2m social distance between all members of different households including all ages of children & that there is no sharing of belongings, food or drink between households.

Please be aware that you attend the walk at your own risk and that you are responsible for yourself and your children.

We are able to offer general breastfeeding support within the restrictions of being outside & the guidance on Covid-19 safety.

If you require additional feeding support or would prefer a more private setting, we would encourage you to either; phone the National Breastfeeding Helpline on 0300 100 0212, or email the local BfN team at bfnsouthcoast@breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk to book a 1-2-1 Zoom call.

We look forward to seeing you on the walk.
