Book by its Cover: Law, Arts and Culture Artist Talk with Jack Tan
Thu 23 March 2017, 14:00 – 15:00 GMT
As part of the Law, Arts and Culture Programme exploring law's intersection with the arts, The Dickson Poon School of Law will be hosting a talk by the artist Jack Tan.
Drawing on his legal training and his work in civil litigation alongside his multidisciplinary artistic practice, Jack Tan's work explores the connection between the social, the legal and art. Using social relations and cultural norms as material, he creates performances, performatives, sculpture, video and participatory projects that highlight the rules — customs, rituals, habits and theories — that guide human behaviour.
Jack Tan will be discussing his recent projects which include a sound installation he created for the Singapore Art Museum and the State Courts of Singapore.
