Book Discovery: Inclusion and Belonging (Primary 1st Level)
Overview
Join Scottish Book Trust for this Book Discovery session to explore a range of contemporary texts you could use when working with children at First Level which support inclusion and belonging.
Research suggests a rich and wide knowledge of contemporary children’s literature and other texts can help nurture reading for pleasure. This session aims to support the development of this and explore how you can use children’s literature as a tool for inclusion.
This research-informed session will take you through some text recommendations; share adaptable activity ideas for use alongside the texts; give opportunity for discussion with other learning professionals; and signpost to further resources to support you.
If you'd like to attend, we'd encourage you to bring along a title that you would like to share with other participants on this theme. We can't wait to share our curated text suggestions with you and to hear about your selected choices.
This session is suitable for those working in primary schools and student teachers. It will be held as a meeting on Microsoft Teams, with meeting details emailed close to the event. For the best experience, we recommend joining the webinar using the Microsoft Teams app rather than using the browser.
