Research suggests a rich and wide knowledge of contemporary texts for young people can help nurture reading for pleasure. This interactive session aims to support the development of this through sharing our favourite short stories (and shorter stories) as selected by the School Communities team at Scottish Book Trust.
Alongside our recommendations, we'll also be chatting about ways that you can use short stories for sparking creative writing and you'll have lots of opportunity to get ideas and share suggestions with practitioners across Scotland.
If you'd like to attend, we'd encourage you to bring along a short story (or collection) that you would like to recommend to other participants! We can't wait to share our curated text suggestions with you and to hear about your selected choices.
