Join us for the launch of this long-awaited and highly anticipated volume "On Women", the second in An Anthology of Qur'anic Commentaries.

About this event

An Anthology of Qur’anic Commentaries, Volume II: On Women (Oxford University Press and The Institute of Ismaili Studies, November 2021), edited by Karen Bauer and Feras Hamza is the long-awaited and highly anticipated second volume in the Anthology of Qur’anic Commentaries series.

This work offers a thematic overview of the subject of women in the Qur’an and in the commentarial tradition known as tafsir.

Join us at the book launch event with the editors, Dr Karen Bauer and Dr Feras Hamza, and the panel of discussants Dr Sarah Savant, Dr Walid Saleh, Dr Yasmin Amin and Dr Anna Chrysostomides. The panel event will run from 5-6:30pm, followed by a reception with refreshments from 6:30-7:15pm.

Attendees are invited to join in-person and online; please note registration is essential, via Eventbrite or Zoom respectively. The event will be filmed, live-streamed, and the recording may be edited and used by The Institute of Ismaili Studies for marketing, educational and archival purposes.
