About this event

Book Launch: The Dolls We Left Behind

Come and join us for the exciting launch of the posthumously published book -The Dolls We Left Behind: A Child's Wartime Journey from Poland to Persia in the Multi-media Room at the Polish Social and Cultural Association POSK!

In 1940, Soviet authorities deported more than a million people from eastern Poland, tearing families from their homes and sending them to remote labour camps. Among them was Genia Wenserska, just a child living in the border town of Mołodeczno, whose world was upended overnight. The memoir is a moving family story and an important record of Polish wartime history, praised by scholars for its vivid testimony.

Join us for readings from the book, meet the author's family, get your copy signed by the editor, and enjoy some refreshements. Don't miss out on this special event celebrating Polish wartime history and memory. See you there!
