Join us for the book launch of The Ballet Lover’s Companion on Wednesday 29th July at 7.30pm at RAD Headquarters, London.
The launch will include a talk by author Zoë Anderson, dance writer and critic for The Independent. Zoë will give an insight into the book, which focuses on 140 ballets from the ethereal world of romantic ballet to the edgy, muscular works of modern choreographers. The book will delight anyone who attends the ballet, participates in ballet, or simply loves ballet and wants to know much more about it.
The talk will be followed by a short Q&A and book signing at the end of the evening. Tickets include a glass of wine and the chance to buy a signed copy of the book at a discounted rate of £20 (RRP £25).
The Phillip Richardson Library will also be holding a special exhibition themed around the book’s historical overview of ballet. This will include original items and treasures from the archive, including letters from Anna Pavlova and Igor Stravinsky, original portraits and prints, costume designs for Alicia Markova and Margot Fonteyn, rare material from the Imperial Ballet and much more.
