Event description
Book launch for Mark: A Novel

About this event

Almost fifteen years in the making, a novel loosely based on the life of the British painter, Mark Gertler, is making its way into the world. Please join me to welcome my new book.

There'll be readings from the book, some talk about art, life, fiction, facts, and what happens when you meet the real son of an artist you're turning into a fictional character.

I hope you'll join me.

Here's a link to check the start time where you are.

If you can't make the launch and would like a copy of the book, please visit this link.

About the book:

Mark is interwoven with the story of an Israeli writer living in London, haunted by his experience of a brutal war in Lebanon and the death he witnessed there. Told through a series of sketches, the story touches on the artists relationships with the painter Dora Carrington, and his friendships with Ottoline Morrell, members of the Bloomsbury Group, and with Eddie Marsh, Winston Churchill's private secretary. The narrator, in his fascination with the deceased artist, travels together with his lover, Gabriel, to Sitges, Paris, Brighton, and to the sanatoria where Gertler spent many months as his body succumbed to the ravages of tuberculosis.
