Join us on National Poetry Day for an evening in the bookshop with local poet Vivienne Tregenza as we launch her debut suite of poetry, Conversations with Magic Stones. Grab a complimentary drink and enjoy an evening celebrating local arts! The evening will include a poetry reading from the new collection and also a chance to chat with Vivienne and grab a signed copy.
Conversations with Magic Stones commemorates the life and work of Barbara Hepworth, fifty years after her death in a fire at her home in St Ives. It goes on to explore the Hepworth themes of figures in the landscape, loss, resilience and transformation, moving from the poet’s home in West Cornwall to the Isles of Scilly and back again.
Vivienne Tregenza won the Formal Poetry Prize at Poetry on the Lake, Orta, Italy and has been placed or shortlisted in competitions including the Bridport, Frogmore, Hippocrates, Second Light, Ver Poets and Welsh Poetry Prizes. In 2024 she was shortlisted for the Cinnamon Press ‘New Voices’ Award and also highly commended in the Geoff Stevens Memorial Poetry Prize. Vivienne is well-published in UK journals.
