Event description

Description

Have you got a research idea or practice which could make a book? Or an idea for a non-fiction book which might appeal to an audience beyond your academic discipline?

Well, there are two words for that: book proposal. In the non-fiction world, publishers will ask an author to submit this vital document (and not the entire book). However, if you want it to emerge unscathed from the slush pile, your proposal must be clear, thoroughly researched, and ironclad.

This workshop will help sculpt your book proposal into its best self, with a series of activities and mini-peer reviews for your ideas; book proposal templates; case studies of Cass staff who have successfully proposed books, written books and published books; and representation from academic publishers.

The second in the series of Cass Research Workshop events. The series, which covers a range or topics from practice as research to academic writing and book-publishing, is intended for Cass Staff and Postgaduate Students to gain key skills in academic research for artists, designers, writers and architects.
